Lake Garda offers endless possibilities for sports. The multitude of routes and excursions both on the lakefront and in the hills and the breathtaking view will make you remember it forever. Monte Baldo, also known as the Botanical Park of Europe, is one of the places chosen for excursions with routes that lead up to the top of the highest mountains in the most remote places, which can also be tackled with mountain bikes.
Horse racing becomes a fascinating sport, if practiced in the beautiful nature of Lake Garda. Many equestrian centers, all around the lake, offer specific programs for beginners and experts.
Playing golf has become very important in recent years on Lake Garda, offering equipped centers that perfectly adapt to the environment around them.
But the primary sport is undoubtedly that linked to water. In the north, wind and waves offer surf lovers the opportunity to really have fun. Surf schools, with rentals, focus mainly on Torbole, Riva, Malcesine and Gargnano. Countless races with crews from all over the world take place in these places. Sailing schools, even for children, are available in virtually every location. Many countries offer diving centers to learn how to discover the “hidden treasures of Lake Garda”. These centers are found mainly in Riva, Salò, Torri del Benaco and Desenzano.
Very interesting and intriguing are the new sports, such as “free-climbing” and “Canyoning”. The famous “Rock Master” takes place in Arco around mid-September, where the best free-climbers in the world challenge each other.
Thanks to the good thermal conditions offered by Monte Baldo, also lovers of gliding and hang-gliding have built a sports center for both of these sports in Caprino. Not to be underestimated is water skiing (also with a parachute), practiced south of the lake.
